Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
The Material Handler works in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse environment, picking and bagging orders, moving materials throughout the facility, and supporting shipping and receiving activities. This role uses RF scanners and stand-up forklifts to accurately handle inventory and ensure efficient order fulfillment. Candidates with stand-up forklift experience are preferred, but comprehensive training and certification on stand-up forklifts will be provided if needed.
Responsibilities
Pick and bag orders accurately using RF scanners and follow established procedures.
Move materials, boxes, and products throughout the warehouse or plant area in a safe and efficient manner.
Operate stand-up forklifts to transport, load, and unload materials, following all safety guidelines.
Support shipping and receiving activities, including staging, loading, unloading, and verifying materials.
Use RF scanners to locate, track, and update inventory and order information in the system.
Follow work instructions related to packaging, order picking, and material handling.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with facility standards.
Collaborate with team members and shift leads to meet production, shipping, and quality targets.
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures while operating equipment and performing general labor tasks.
Work assigned shift hours reliably, including extended shift times as scheduled.
Essential Skills
Experience working in a warehouse, distribution center, or plant environment handling materials and boxes.
Hands-on experience using RF scanners for order picking or inventory management.
Ability to perform general labor tasks such as lifting, moving, and staging materials safely.
Willingness and ability to operate stand-up forklifts after receiving training and certification.
Basic understanding of shipping and receiving processes.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and ability to work 1st or 2nd shift as scheduled.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous stand-up forklift operating experience.
Prior experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
Experience with RF scanning systems in a production or distribution setting.
Familiarity with SAP or EWM systems for inventory or warehouse management.
Experience in packaging, order picking, and shipping and receiving operations.
Experience working as a material handler, receiver, or forklift operator.

Work Environment
This role is based in a clean, climate-controlled warehouse or plant facility. Work involves standing, walking, lifting, and moving boxes and materials throughout the shift, as well as operating stand-up forklifts and using RF scanners and warehouse systems such as SAP/EWM. The position is available on multiple shifts, with core schedules of 6:30am–3:00pm for 1st shift and 3:00pm–11:30pm for 2nd shift, with the potential for extended hours as required (such as 4:30am–3:00pm on 1st shift and 3:00pm–1:30am on 2nd shift). The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and consistent, reliable work habits.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sanford, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.44/hr.
