Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Production Manager in Sanford, NC. In this role, you are accountable for the coordination of material, equipment, manpower, quality and meeting production schedules and customer satisfaction. Major responsibilities include directing the work of others, problem solving and resolution and coordination with support departments including off shifts. In addition, the Senior Production Manager determines budget requirements, cost savings project plans, forecasting production needs and ensuring quality standards are maintained.

Oversee operations activities, ensuring thatsafety, andschedules and performance requirements aremetand systems resources are used effectively.

Drive improvements for overall operations performance and implementing production safety,costand quality control mechanisms.
Ensure the compliance of all regulatory guidelines, safety policies /processand operations excellence.
Audit and report on safety, Quality, Certification, standard work, productivity, and overall equipment effectiveness metrics
A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:
Production Training: Knowledge of approaches,toolsand techniques for delivering formal and informal training on the safe and efficient operation of production machinery; ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training.
Influencing: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability toimpactdecisions within and outside own organization.
Performance Management: Knowledge of successful performance management techniques; ability to apply organization's performance management system, practices, and tools todevelopingandimprovingindividual, team, and organizational performance.
Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring andmaintainingwork in a systematic and highly methodical way.
Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts,toolsand techniques; ability to effectivelytransmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application ofappropriate communicationbehaviors.
Top Candidates for this position may also have:
Bachelor’s degree or7years in progressive manufacturing management role.
Proven cross functional leadershipleading managers.
Extensive Project Management experienceincludingdemonstratedLean Manufacturing implementation projects.
An extensive knowledge of assembly processes and tools, manufacturing operations, and related areas.
Strong business acumen and proven excellent decision makingin cost analysis,safetyand headcount management.
Demonstrated ability to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
Thorough knowledge of Lean Manufacturing processes.

The primary location for this position is Sanford, NC.
Domestic relocation assistance is available
This role will be Monday- Thursday 700PM-600AM
There is an 8% shift premium for this 3rd Shift position

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00
