Job Description:
Jordan High School – Head Swim Coach (Boys & Girls) Immediate Opening
Jordan High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Swim Coach for both the boys and girls swim programs. This position is ideal for someone passionate about developing student-athletes, fostering a positive team culture, and leading a competitive and successful program.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and develop student-athletes in swim techniques, conditioning, and competition preparation
Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive team environment
Plan and conduct organized, structured, and effective practices
Oversee and manage all aspects of team operations, including tryouts and athlete selection
Ensure athlete safety and provide guidance on injury prevention
Supervise all practices, meets, locker rooms, and team travel
Communicate team, school, and district policies clearly to athletes and families
Comply with all school, district, and Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) rules and regulations
Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner
Perform other related duties as assigned
Preferred Skills:
Experience coaching and/or participating in competitive swimming
Ability to work with swimmers of all skill levels
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Effective time management and attention to detail
Ability to create structured, engaging practices
Flexibility and commitment to attend all practices and meets
Candidate must complete 3 required UHSAA courses, new hire paperwork, and completion of Register my athlete/coaches account within 2 weeks of hire and before you can begin coaching duties.
