Overview

The Test Facilities Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the

NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility, in Sandusky, Ohio is searching for a

Full-Time Mechanical Test Engineer

specializing in Fluids and Gas

to provide engineering support and leadership in the planning, design, and execution of engineering and technical tasks for an assigned test or facility project at the In-Space Propulsion (ISP) Test Facility within the Propulsion Test Complex (PTC).

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  1. Requires a minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Aerospace, etc.) or equivalent and two (2) years' applicable experience.
  2. Knowledge and understanding of fluids and gases including cryogenic, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen.
  3. Knowledge and understanding of fluid mechanics, fluid dynamics, aerodynamics, aerospace testing and facility operations, mechanical design, and mechanical test systems involving hydraulics, high vacuum, and pneumatics.
  4. Understanding of electronic test systems involving data acquisition, sensors, and signal conditioning.
  5. Direct knowledge of aerospace test facilities including wind tunnels, thermal vacuum facilities, propulsion test stands, and vibration testing is highly desirable.
