Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

We are seeking skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. You will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery on construction sites, including bulldozers, excavators, motor graders, and front-end loaders. Your role will also involve working outside the cab when necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, excavators, and loaders to move earth, debris, and materials.

  • Use equipment to dig, level, and grade land according to project specifications.

  • Clear land, remove obstacles, and ensure proper groundwork for construction.

  • Load, transport, and distribute materials like dirt, gravel, and rock.

  • Perform daily inspections, minor repairs, and routine maintenance to keep machinery in top condition.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of heavy equipment operation experience.

  • 2-3+ years of experience operating Excavators and Dozers.

  • Must be comfortable occasionally working outside the cab.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial construction and site development.

  • Skills in fine grading and rough grade operations.

  • Familiarity with vibratory rollers.

Work Environment

Work on average 40-50 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7am to 5pm, with flexibility required for some weekend work. You will be working across 15 job sites located in the Richmond Metro area, with the farthest site being 45 minutes from Chester, VA.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
