We are seeking entry-level Cable Technicians to support large-scale data center projects. This role is ideal for individuals who want to learn structured cabling in a hands-on environment. Technicians will assist experienced team members and team leads in building out data center infrastructure, including cable pathways, server racks, and fiber/copper cabling.Most technicians will begin by installing cable trays and assembling server racks, then progress into more advanced cabling and termination tasks as skills develop.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pull and route copper and fiber cables throughout a data center

• Drop cable down walls using fish tape or similar tools

• Organize, dress, label, and determine proper cable length and slack

• Install and support cable using:

• Cable trays

• J-hooks

• D-rings

• Bridal rings

• Trapeze systems

• Assist with installing cable trays, pathways, and server racks

• Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cabling

• Perform fire-stopping procedures (install sleeves, pull cable through sleeves, and seal wall penetrations)

• Terminate low-voltage devices (training provided)

• Read and follow prints and diagrams

• Complete all required paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, work orders, material logs, etc.)

• Follow all company, customer, safety, and quality standards

• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Interest in cabling and data center work

• Basic knowledge or exposure to:

• Cat5 / Cat6 cable

• Structured cabling

• Cable installation or cable pulling

• Willingness to learn fiber termination and color codes

Qualifications:

• Strong work ethic and punctuality

• Team-oriented mindset

• Flexible schedule availability

• Overtime expected when projects fall behind

• May work 10–12 hour days and up to 6 days per week

This is a Contract position based out of Sandston, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
