Job Title: Senior Design Engineer
Job Description
The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for the design and production engineering of inlet and exhaust systems for Simple Cycle and Combined-Cycle turbine systems. This position is the technical lead for the business, supporting both tactical and strategic initiatives, directing drafting, and supporting Field Service Operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary technical contact with clients to review applications, project specifications and documentation
Summarize requirements to support quote development with estimators, including performing customer site visits to verify details
Create, modify and review fabrication drawings, perform and/or check design calculations, and direct drafting personnel to complete design and fabrication drawings,
Coordinate with other departments or functions to establish information needed to complete all technical activities (manufacturing, purchasing, welding engineer, project management)
File management and organization of electronic records and drawing revisions associated with assigned jobs
Support activities for jobs not assigned include (as required according to project schedules):
Site visits (as needed)
Customer engagement events including presenting company capabilities
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related technical field from an accredited university, or Associates degree + 2 years industry related experience, or 5 years directly related industry experience showing progression to competency of essential job functions
Competency with structural steel design and erection preferred
Licensed PE preferred
Strong knowledge of Combined Cycle Power Generation Systems required, including Filter Houses, Plenums, Ducting and HRSG components
Familiarity of ASME VIII Div. 1 design & construction and industry standards preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in the following tools preferred:
Design Software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar)
Structural software (RISA, Tekla or similar)
Microsoft Office Products
Physical Requirements
