Robert Half Legal Secretary in San Pedro, California
Description We are looking for a skilled Legal Secretary to join a busy personal injury litigation firm in San Pedro, California. This is a part-time, contract position requiring on-site work one to two days per week (8–16 hours). In this role, you will assist with critical legal tasks, including document preparation, calendaring, and file organization, while ensuring smooth operations for the firm.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare, format, and edit legal pleadings and discovery documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Manage court and discovery deadlines by maintaining and tracking the firm's calendar.
• Draft and file responses to discovery requests in a timely and detail-oriented manner.
• Conduct e-filing and e-service of legal documents in accordance with court requirements.
• Organize and maintain physical files and case-related documents for easy access and reference.
• Provide general administrative support to the legal team as needed. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal secretary, with a focus on personal injury litigation.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and familiarity with e-filing and e-service processes.
• Strong understanding of legal document preparation, including pleadings and discovery paperwork.
• Exceptional organizational and calendar management skills to handle deadlines effectively.
• Ability to work fully on-site and commit to the required schedule.
• Immediate availability, with flexibility for a trial/work day to start promptly.
