Job Title: Assistant Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Assistant Project Manager to join our team. This role involves working closely with the Project Management team to manage and estimate construction projects effectively. You will be instrumental in organizing project elements, reviewing drawings for accuracy, and developing job bid proposals while maintaining strong relationships with sub-contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate directly with the Project Management team to manage and estimate construction projects.

  • Complete engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.

  • Review drawings for correctness and prepare job bid proposals.

  • Develop relationships with sub-contractors and interact with them to secure necessary information for job bids.

  • Support Project Manager in collecting information for the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) report.

  • Assist with projecting and adhering to job budget and timing of tasks.

  • Maintain project schedule by monitoring progress, coordinating activities, and resolving issues.

  • Interface with sub-contractors as necessary and manage project costs by recommending expenditures.

  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  • Travel to job site locations when necessary to review progress and provide solutions to challenges.

  • Assist in managing project timelines and deadlines.

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Update project database by maintaining construction systems.

  • Support the Project Manager in answering customer inquiries.

  • Contribute to team efforts by achieving related results as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • BA/Associates degree preferred or equivalent work experience.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and understand construction drawings.

  • Working knowledge of project budgeting and pricing of materials and labor.

  • 2+ years of experience in the construction field.

  • Experience leading projects up to $2.5M in scope.

  • Experience in APM, Project Engineer, Project Management, Construction Management, RFI, Change Order, Estimation, and Project Engineering.

  • Experience in Mechanical Construction, MEP, Mission Critical, Data Center, and Commercial projects.

Work Environment

The role is based onsite in San Marcos, Texas, focused on a Data Center project. The position involves working in a typical office environment with miscellaneous field travel.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
