  • Demonstrated proficiency in English, including strong reading, writing, and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional organizational abilities with a high level of attention to detail

  • Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and executing events

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel

  • Experience managing and publishing website and social media content

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in diverse environments while exercising sound independent judgment

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of university and higher education administrative processes

  • Experience processing course overrides using Banner

  • Familiarity with HB2504 and HB1027 compliance requirements and procedures

  • Experience supervising, training, and directing student workers

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead projects with minimal supervision

  • Proficiency with Texas State systems, including SAP , Banner, CatsWeb, and Logi

Job Description

The Administrative Assistant II provides administrative and general clerical support to the management and staff within a specific division, department, or unit.

Job Duties

  • Greet, screen, and assist office visitors in a professional and welcoming manner

  • Supervise student workers by prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities

  • Assist undergraduate students with course registration, including processing enrollment overrides

  • Ensure compliance with HB2504 and HB1027 requirements, including tracking deadlines and documentation

  • Support the preparation and administration of end-of-semester student evaluations

  • Provide administrative support to the scholarship committee, including coordination and documentation

  • Manage and update departmental social media accounts and website content

  • Source, develop, and coordinate marketing materials for events and recruitment initiatives

  • Take an active leadership role in planning and executing annual departmental events

  • Support faculty advisors and activities of Computer Science student organizations

  • Perform additional duties as assigned
