Description
A busy and growing construction services company in San Marcos is seeking a detail-driven Payroll Specialist to manage full-cycle payroll for a multi-state workforce. This role is critical to ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining strict compliance with wage and hour regulations. Core Responsibilities
Process weekly and biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
Review timecards, job codes, and union or prevailing wage requirements
Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Process garnishments, deductions, and benefit withholdings
Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end close
Respond to employee payroll inquiries professionally and promptly
Assist with year-end processes including W-2 preparation
Partner with HR and accounting to ensure data accuracy
Requirements
3+ years of full-cycle payroll experience
Multi-state payroll experience strongly preferred
Knowledge of California wage and hour laws
Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, UKG, etc.)
Strong Excel and reporting skills
High level of accuracy and confidentiality
Construction or field workforce experience preferred
