The Payroll Specialist will run compliant, accurate, and on-time Costa Rica payroll. The role partners with HR, Finance, and vendors to ensure strong employee experience and maintain audit-ready controls. Global payroll and/or shared services experience is a plus.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, delivers results quickly, and can influence employees and managers. The professional will support a highly skilled site team, including orthodontists, dentists, clinicians, and software design talent, while embracing new challenges and continuous learning.
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Human Resources, Economics, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant payroll experience will be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
5+ years of payroll experience with demonstrated expertise in Costa Rica payroll.
Proven experience managing payroll calendars, validations, reconciliations, and employee support in a fast-paced environment.
Plus: experience in global payroll operations (multi-country) and/or payroll shared services in a global environment, including working with service delivery models and SLAs.
Bilingual Spanish English (written and verbal) is required.

Knowledge of HR data analytics to support payroll insights (trend analysis, error patterns, cycle time, service KPIs) and inform continuous improvement.
Experience building dashboards or automated reports (e.g., Power BI/Tableau) and/or working with basic data tools (e.g., SQL) is a plus.
Exposure to process automation and standardization initiatives within HR Operations or Shared
