Job Description

The Helix Creator wears advanced sensor equipment and performs precise, human-like motions to generate high-quality motion data that trains AI robotics models. This role combines careful physical movement, basic technical skills, and detailed feedback to help develop the next generation of humanoid robots in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment.

Responsibilities

  • Wear sensor equipment correctly and consistently to guide the robot through accurate, human-like motions.

  • Perform repetitive motion sequences with precision to collect high-quality motion data for AI model training.

  • Carefully follow established procedures for data collection, equipment handling, and workspace organization.

  • Monitor equipment and data collection sessions, flagging any issues, bugs, or anomalies as they arise.

  • Document and share clear, daily feedback with the team on system performance, usability, and any observed problems.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace in the production and lab environment at all times.

  • Use basic computer skills and data entry tools to log activities, track data, and support testing workflows.

  • Collaborate with a goal-driven team of engineers by providing consistent, reliable motion data and insights from daily operations.

  • Stay focused and on task during repetitive work, maintaining quality and attention to detail over extended periods.

  • Follow safety guidelines and operational protocols to ensure safe use of sensor equipment and related electronics.

Essential Skills

  • Strong computer literacy, including comfort working with basic software tools and digital interfaces.

  • Data entry skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to support testing and data collection processes by following clear instructions and protocols.

  • Familiarity with electronics and computer systems sufficient to operate sensor equipment and related tools.

  • Excellent physical coordination and control to perform consistent, repeatable motion sequences.

  • Strong spatial awareness to understand and reproduce specific movements and positions.

  • Ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks and sustain consistent performance over time.

  • Openness to constructive feedback and a strong desire for continuous improvement.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to evolving procedures and priorities.

  • Reliability and discipline to stay on task and avoid distractions during repetitive work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in production, lab, or manufacturing environments.

  • Comfort working with Microsoft Office or similar productivity tools for basic documentation and communication.

  • Background or interest in AI, robotics, or technology-driven products.

  • Experience supporting testing activities, quality checks, or validation processes.

  • Strong communication skills to clearly report issues, bugs, and observations to the engineering team.

  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to learn new tools and workflows in a startup setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a production and lab room environment, working hands-on with sensor equipment and motion capture setups. You will collaborate closely with a goal-driven team of engineers who are focused on building and refining advanced humanoid robotics systems. The work involves repetitive tasks and motion sequences, which can feel monotonous at times, so you must remain focused and avoid distractions to maintain quality and safety. The environment is fast-paced, operationally oriented, and centered around precision, consistency, and adherence to established procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Jose, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $33.00/hr.
