Robert Half General Ledger Accountant in San Jose, California

Description

The General Ledger (GL) Accountant is responsible for maintaining and reconciling the company’s financial records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards. This role plays a key part in month-end close, financial reporting, account reconciliiations, and supporting audits.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations

  • Lead or support the month-end and year-end closing process

  • Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP / IFRS

  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations

  • Reconcile intercompany transactions

  • Analyze financial data and explain variances

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and management reports

  • Support internal and external audit processes

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements

  • Improve accounting processes and internal controls

    Requirements

3–5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in general ledger or financial reporting

Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.)

Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS)
