Opportunity Overview
Reports to: Director of SOC Technical Business Development
The Field Product Specialist (FPS) connects customer challenges with Teradyne solutions to drive growth. You’ll partner with Sales, Marketing, Applications, and Engineering to shape proposals, influence product direction, and help customers succeed.
You’ll bring hands-on ATE test experience on UltraFLEXplus/UltraFLEX, with emphasis on Cloud/AI/Compute. You’ll support customers across the US, Asia, and Europe, and collaborate with factory engineering and marketing; targeted training is available for the right overall fit.
You’ll join a technical presales team that values collaboration and growth, with support to deepen expertise and build the customer-facing skills that drive outcomes.

Location: Austin, TX or San Jose, CA are desired locations for this role.
Travel: Customer engagement is centered in San Jose, CA; Bay Area candidates preferred. Travel is 2–4 weeks/quarter to Asia/Europe. Non–Bay Area candidates may be considered with additional Bay Area travel of 6–7 weeks/quarter (typically 3–4 days/week) for customer and team needs.
Responsibilities
Build trusted technical relationships with customer engineering teams.
Identify opportunities, articulate value, and help drive wins.
Coordinate cross-functional experts to design and deliver customer solutions.
Provide customer-driven input on positioning and product/engineering roadmaps.
Share feedback with factory and engineering to improve roadmap and execution.

General Qualifications/Skills

Bachelors degree in ideally Electrical Engineering or related field.
5–8+ years in SoC validation/test (e.g., test development, DFT, or test-enablement tools).
Experience with leading-edge SoC ATE (Teradyne and/or Advantest).
Customer-first mindset; able to build relationships across customer and internal teams.
Ownership mindset; collaborate, prioritize, and drive closure.
Strong communication and presentation skills.
Competitive benchmarking experience is a plus.
Growth mindset and interest in customer-facing work.
Experience with (or interest in learning):
Silicon technology fundamentals and DFT
Test program generation and debug
Digital plus DC/power test techniques
Manufacturing test
Advanced packaging technologies
C#/.NET (helpful, not required)

Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $155,00-$248,100. This range is a good faith estimate, and the amount of base salary will correspond with experience and skill set. This range can also fluctuate depending on demand and location.
Incentive Plan: This job is eligible for discretionary bonus(es) based on financial performance.
