Insight Global EVDT Test Engineer in San Jose, California
Job Description
• You will participates on a project team of engineers involved in the design, development, and testing of state of the art hardware for the Service Provider Business Unit Cisco 8000 product line.
• May be responsible for the end to end test execution of a program from concept commit into sustaining.
• Will execute complex unit and system level testing, debug, isolate, and provide failure analysis.
• Will help facilitate the root cause, resolution, and closure of issues.
• Will regularly collaborate with Diagnostics, Software & Power/Thermal/Hardware Engineering, Mfg Engineering and support various hardware unit characterization requests.
○ This includes Signal Integrity SERDES verification, thermal and power captures, diagnostics and IOS- XR image validation, Pilot Firmware Bundle Testing, Optical Module and Interface validations.
• May author or modify automation TCL/Unix scripts as well as configure complex network topologies using Cisco Hardware.

Skills and Requirements
• Knowledge of fundamental hardware blocks & subsystems - CPU/microcontrollers, LVDS signaling, PCIe, USB, clocking, signal integrity & power issues
• Have solid knowledge regarding Cisco router/switch configurations, networking concepts TCP/IP, L2/L3 switching;"
• Competent with a scripting language Python or Tcl.
• Familiarity with lab equipment (thermal chambers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, digital-to-analog converter)
• Comfortable with hands on test set-up configuration (can lift 30lbs). Can help transports equipment between buildings. • Attention to details. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, time management, open to learning.
• Ability to learn things quickly & adapt to a dynamic, fast paced work environment;
• Ability to work well with others - both internal & external teams and be self motivated.
• Be able to analyze issues/problems, figure out a workaround , troubleshooting, triage, debug, trial-and-error test ability, and drive issues to closure
Be able to understand/digest emails/training materials/specs and to follow the instructions/specs well
