Deloitte Cloud Database Administrator- Project Delivery Specialist in San Jose, California

Work you'll do/Responsibilities
You will provide expert cloud database administration support for production and development environments, ensuring availability, performance, security, backup, recovery, and seamless upgrade and change management. This role will focus on administering and optimizing cloud-based database platforms and related infrastructure, with an emphasis on operational stability, automation, monitoring, and support within a Life Sciences & Health Care client environment.
Provide day-to-day cloud DBA support for production and development environments.Administer, monitor, and optimize database performance, availability, and health across cloud-based platforms.
Support backup, recovery, patching, upgrade, and change management processes to ensure operational continuity.
Manage and support GCP-based infrastructure and services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
Implement and maintain infrastructure automation using Terraform, Helm, Python, Bash, and Shell scripting.
Configure and support cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting to improve reliability and incident response.
Troubleshoot database, platform, infrastructure, and environment issues across development, test, and production environments.
Support DevOps and deployment processes using tools such as Jenkins, Airflow, GitHub, and Docker.
Apply cloud security, networking, and database management best practices in support of stable and secure environments.
Participate in on-call support as needed to maintain uptime and service continuity.
Communicate regularly with Engagement Managers (Directors), project team members, and representatives from various functional and/or technical teams, including escalating any matters that require additional attention and consideration from engagement management.
Independently and collaboratively lead client engagement workstreams focused on improvement, optimization, and transformation of processes including implementing leading practice workflows, addressing deficits in quality, and driving operational outcomes.

Qualifications
Required
7+ years of experience in cloud database administration, cloud engineering, or cloud infrastructure support
7+ years of experience with cloud architecture, deployment, administration, and operational support
7+ years of experience supporting production and development environments, including backup, recovery, upgrades, patching, and change management
Experience with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery
Strong scripting and automation skills using Terraform, Helm, Python, Bash, and Shell
Experience implementing and supporting cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting capabilities
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools such as Jenkins, Airflow, GitHub, and Docker
Knowledge of networking, security, and database management in cloud environments
Strong communication skills and ability to support on-call operational needs
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline; or equivalent experience
Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
Preferred
Experience supporting cloud-hosted relational and/or NoSQL database platforms
Experience with Kubernetes-based deployments and containerized workloads
Experience with infrastructure-as-code and environment automation
Analytical ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
Can operate independently or with minimum supervision
The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,750 to $171,250.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
