Uber Senior Strategy & Planning Associate in San Francisco, California

The Global Marketplace & Courier Strategy team drives the reliability, quality, and efficiency behind every order worldwide. We support the Delivery Leadership Team by challenging and changing the trajectory of our marketplace operating point.
We're looking for a senior operator to help identify and execute data-driven strategies to strengthen the Global Delivery marketplace at scale. You'll partner with Regional Operations, Product, Engineering, and Data Science to generate insights, develop frameworks, standardize best practices, and drive systemic improvements across the marketplace experience, including merchant and courier operations, user experience, and defect prevention.
This is a highly cross-functional and analytical role - ideal for someone who combines strong strategic thinking, operational depth, and the ability to influence across global teams to deliver measurable impact for millions of users worldwide.
What You'll Do
Lead Global Priorities: Lead special projects to solve emerging global challenges and opportunities, owning everything from problem structuring and data analysis to strategy development, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional implementation
Analytical Decision Making: Lead and perform in-depth analysis to identify root causes of key marketplace challenges (e.g., merchant-driven defects, courier engagement issues, or user experience friction)
Global Operations Champion: Partner with Regional Operations leaders to understand local nuances and scale globally-consistent best practices
Product and Operations Strategy: Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and CommOps to design and implement systematic solutions, new features, and process improvements to drive a more reliable end-to-end experience
Author the Global Playbook: Build frameworks, models, and dashboards to monitor pillar-specific performance, ensuring transparency and accountability across global and regional teams
Global Project Management: Own cross-functional governance for your domain, ensuring priorities are resourced, tracked, and embedded into Uber Delivery's long-term product and marketplace roadmap
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, analytics, or a related field with a focus on Marketplace businesses
Proficiency in SQL and experience using data to identify opportunities, quantify impact, and guide decision-making
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams and influence without authority in a highly cross-functional environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex ideas and align senior partners around a shared strategy
High standards and a bias toward action, comfortable working through ambiguity, driving alignment, and holding a high bar for quality and delivery
Demonstrated ability to set strategic vision and translate insights into clear executional plans
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data, identify root causes, and develop actionable solutions
Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with measurable business impact in a global technology company
Ability to leverage AI to do more with less (e.g. Cursor, Claude Cowork)
Experience with Python is a big plus
Passion for improving reliability, efficiency, and user experience through scalable, global solutions
Proven regional acumen, experience in working across different countries and cultures
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$131,000 per year - USD$145,500 per year. For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$131,000 per year - USD$145,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
