Description
A boutique San Francisco law firm is seeking a Litigation Secretary to provide immediate coverage while the team builds out a new paralegal/legal secretary support structure. This is a high-volume, execution-focused role supporting multiple attorneys across active litigation matters.
This opportunity is best suited for a litigation secretary who can step in quickly, manage deadlines independently, and take ownership of a busy desk with minimal ramp time.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file documents in state, federal, and appellate courts, including TOAs, TOCs, and exhibits
Manage attorney calendars, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and travel logistics
Track and maintain litigation deadlines using docketing and calendaring systems
Draft, proof, and finalize pleadings, discovery, motions, and correspondence
Support trial preparation, including subpoenas, deposition coordination, and trial binders
Handle heavy document management, including formatting, organization, and filing workflows
Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors professionally
Perform administrative tasks including time entry, expense reports, and new matter intake
Support multiple attorneys across high-volume litigation dockets
Requirements
Requirements
4+ years of litigation secretary experience supporting multiple attorneys
Strong experience with state and federal e-filing, including motion practice and under-seal filings
Solid knowledge of court rules, procedures, and deadlines
Experience with calendaring systems such as CompuLaw, TriTek, or similar
Experience with iManage or similar document management systems
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat
Experience preparing TOAs, TOCs, and formatted legal documents
Strong proofreading, organization, and prioritization skills
Ability to work independently in a deadline-driven, high-volume environment
Must be able to work onsite 5 days/week in San Francisco
Available to start as soon as next week, 4/6
Ability to report fully onsite in San Francisco, CA
