Robert Half Director of Accounting in San Francisco, California
Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to join our team on a long-term contract basis in San Francisco, California. This position will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy and compliance while leading a small accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in financial reporting, leadership, and accounting processes, particularly within the investment industry. This hybrid role requires on-site work three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage a team of three accounting professionals, providing guidance and oversight.
• Oversee financial reporting processes to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries with accuracy and efficiency.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end close processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to prepare and review financial statements and reports.
• Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure operational effectiveness.
• Utilize accounting tools such as Sage Intacct, Concur Expense, Asana, and bill.com to streamline processes.
• Support external audits by preparing documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.
• Stay updated on GAAP accounting standards and apply them to financial operations. Requirements
• CPA certification is prefered.
• Extensive experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software, including Sage Intacct, Concur Expense, and bill.com.
• Familiarity with Asana for task management and collaboration.
• Demonstrated success in leading and managing teams in an accounting or finance role.
• Experience in the investment industry is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
