Job Title: Low Voltage Foreman
Job Description
This role leads low voltage installation crews on primarily hospital-based projects, ensuring high-quality installation of copper and fiber systems while maintaining strict infectious control procedures and compliance with healthcare facility standards. The foreman coordinates daily field operations, collaborates closely with project management and sales engineering, and serves as a key point of contact for contractors and customers to deliver effective technical solutions on time and within scope.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise low voltage installation crews on a daily basis, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and schedule requirements.
Plan and assign daily tasks for crew members, including detailed delegations of responsibilities to maximize productivity.
Manage tools, equipment, and materials on-site, ensuring crews have the necessary resources to complete work efficiently.
Communicate clearly and professionally with contractors and customers to understand needs, resolve issues, and provide the best technical solutions.
Collaborate with project management to develop and maintain construction timelines for current and future projects.
Work closely with sales engineering on pre-field site assessments and estimating to support accurate bids and project planning.
Oversee and participate in the installation, pulling, and termination of low voltage cabling, including data cable and wire pulling activities.
Ensure proper installation and testing of copper and fiber cabling systems, including CAT3, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, OM3, OM4, OS1, and OS2.
Apply and enforce infectious control procedures and OSHPD requirements when working in hospital and healthcare environments.
Coordinate and support inspections to confirm installations comply with project specifications, codes, and healthcare standards.
Oversee and support installation of related systems such as audio visual, nurse call, card reader access, alarm panels, and associated conduit work.
Perform and direct conduit bending and associated pathway preparation for low voltage cabling.
Maintain accurate communication with internal teams regarding project status, field conditions, and any required changes.
Support scheduling and coordination for occasional third-shift work when required by facility or project constraints.
Travel to various project sites as needed, including overnight stays, while representing the company professionally on all assignments.
Essential Skills
At least 3 years of experience running crews as a foreman in low voltage or related fields.
Strong hands-on experience with low voltage installation, including data cable installation and wire pulling.
Proficiency with copper and fiber applications, including CAT3, CAT5E, CAT6, CAT6A, OM3, OM4, OS1, and OS2.
Demonstrated experience working in hospitals or healthcare facilities, including familiarity with infectious control procedures and OSHPD requirements.
Ability to manage daily crew assignments, on-site tools, and materials effectively.
Strong communication skills to interact with contractors, customers, project managers, and sales engineers.
Ability to perform and oversee inspections to ensure installations meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
Capability to travel regularly to different job sites and stay overnight when required.
Reliable personal vehicle capable of carrying materials and a 6-foot ladder to job sites.
Ability to safely use and maintain hand tools and related field equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with audio visual (AV) systems installation.
Experience with nurse call systems in healthcare environments.
Experience with card reader access control systems.
Experience with alarm panel installation and integration.
Ability to perform conduit bending for low voltage installations.
Comfort working primarily in hospital and clinical environments.
Willingness to work early shifts such as 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional third-shift assignments as needed.
Ability to commute to and work at various locations, including areas such as SFV, SCV, Riverside, Eagle Rock, Santa Maria, Ventura, San Diego, Palmdale, and other regional sites as assigned.

Work Environment
This position is field-based and primarily takes place in hospital and healthcare facilities, where strict attention to infectious control procedures and OSHPD requirements is essential. Work hours generally follow daytime shifts, typically 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional third-shift work depending on project and facility needs. You regularly travel to different job sites across regions such as SFV, SCV, Riverside, Eagle Rock, Santa Maria, Ventura, San Diego, Palmdale, and other locations, and you may stay in hotels for out-of-town assignments with per diem provided. The role is hands-on and physically active, involving use of hand tools, a 6-foot ladder, and low voltage installation equipment. Personal protective equipment is required on-site, including a hard hat, high-visibility vest, work boots, safety glasses, and gloves. A reliable vehicle capable of transporting materials and a 6-foot ladder is necessary, and mileage reimbursement is provided in accordance with company policies. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
