Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is currently hiring a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership role is located onsite at San Diego, CA .
The Manager will work in the Product Support organization leading a team in System Reliability & Maintainability (R&M) Engineering for the RQ-4 USAF, RQ-4 FMS, and Targets Programs. The manager will be responsible for establishing and verifying subsystem R&M performance requirements for all Sustainment, design changes and new development efforts to ensure Reliability and Maintainability) program requirements are achieved. As a member of the Product Support functional management team, the Manager will be responsible for activities such as staffing, recruiting, employee development, performance management, and technical discipline development.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversight and management of R&M analyses and tasks (predictions, FMECA, FRACAS, Reliability Growth, etc.)
Execution of program technical statement of work
Management of budget, schedule, and risks
Regular interaction with senior internal and external customers on technical matters
Recruiting, staffing and retention of talent to ensure program success
Employee development, engagement, and career guidance
Performance management including goal setting, performance appraisals, and issue resolution

Basic Qualifications:
Must either have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a master’s degree AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering or a PhD in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering
Demonstrated financial management skills including development and control of program budgets, schedules, Estimate at Complete (EAC), and the ability to recognize and capture program changes.
Have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering
Must have at least 5 years of experience in Reliability and Maintainability engineering
Previous engineering experience performing R&M analyses
Minimum 2 years or leadership or supervisory experience that includes providing oversight of daily R&M tasking
Prior experience training and mentoring new hires
Primary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
