Special Education Teacher (SPED) – Multiple Openings | San Diego County

We are actively hiring credentialed Special Education Teachers for immediate openings across San Diego County. Flexible schedules available with strong compensation and bonus opportunities.

Open Positions

  • Point Loma: 1 opening

  • La Jolla: 3 openings

  • North County (Oceanside / Vista): 3 openings

Position Details

  • Schedule: Open to Part-Time or Full-Time

  • Start Date: Immediate; flexible through end of school year

  • Contract Length: Current school year with extension into 2026–2027 available

  • Grade Levels / Caseload: Based on experience and preference when possible

Requirements

  • Valid California SPED Credential (required)

  • Minimum 1 year of Special Education teaching experience

  • Strong classroom management and IEP experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $45–$70 per hour (based on experience and assignment)

  • Weekly Pay

The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator provides quality services to special education students, kindergarten through grade 12. The Special Education Teacher has a commitment to team participation in planning and implementation of student programs including special instruction, tutorial assistance and consultation with general education staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state, contract/district regulations

  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching environment preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Elementary Teaching preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Secondary Teaching preferred

  • State Teacher Certification; Type: Standard Special Teaching preferred

  • Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR if applicable

  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
