This employment opportunity is being recruited by Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego on behalf of Children's Specialists of San Diego.
The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Rady Children’s Hospital is looking for a full time Advanced Practice Practitioner to join our growing team providing care for children with gastrointestinal diseases. This position will involve caring for patients with various gastrointestinal disorders in an outpatient setting as well as opportunities to specialize in various areas within gastroenterology in partnership with a physician. You would be joining a division of 24 physicians, 6 fellows and 5 APPs. There is also a team of dieticians, social workers, therapists and a psychologist that work in collaboration with the division to support the care of our patients. You would work both as a solo practitioner and in tandem with a physician making patient assessments, developing treatment plans and assisting with the overall care of these patients. You would be joining a large division with a robust educational curriculum and engaged support staff.
JOB SUMMARY NURSE PRACTITIONER:
The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive physical assessment, treatment, psychosocial support, referral, and health education to children and families in clinical, school, and in-home settings. The Nurse Practitioner functions as a primary care provider, clinical leader, educator, researcher, care coordinator and consultant and works with the supervision of a physician. Performs within the scope of licensures and in accordance with hospital policies. Some positions will be responsible for being on call according to a predetermined schedule or as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Nursing
Current California Nurse Practitioner license
Current CPR/BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers, issued by AHA
Furnishing number, State of California – Must obtain within 1 year of employment
DEA license for positions that require the writing of scheduled medications – Must obtain within 1 year of employment
Medicare Billing number (NPI- National Provider Identifier) - Must obtain within 6 months of employment
Certification: Nurse Practitioner, National – Must obtain within 1 year of employment
Successfully complete the credentialing process through Medical Staff Services
Successfully complete the requirements of the delegations of Services for the assigned division
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in clinical nursing with emphasis in specialty area
Experience in specialty area as a Nurse Practitioner
Formal in-service education and/or lecturing skills
Bilingual Skills desired

Experience in specialty area as a Physician Assistant

Bilingual Skills desired
The expected hiring range for this position is $61.30 to $84.29 per hour.
