We are seeking a Senior Logistics Development Specialist to join our team in Rancho Bernardo. This role independently plans, develops, and manages integrated logistics strategies, processes, and tools to ensure customer support requirements are met on time and within budget. Responsibilities include continuous improvement of logistics processes, supportability analysis, and influencing system design in areas such as maintenance, training, technical documentation, and lifecycle management. The position also supports logistics planning, database development, product support systems, and demand management. You will build strong customer relationships, integrate industry best practices, and present findings and recommendations to technical staff and management. This role may lead and mentor less experienced staff and serve as a consultant or company spokesperson on external projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and implements logistics strategies, processes, and tools.
Ensures contract logistics activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Leads logistics planning for projects, considering design tradeoffs, repair capability, training, and demand analysis.
Produces logistics analysis products, technical manuals, provisioning data, and obsolescence screening.
Conducts research and analysis to develop integrated logistics support programs.
Evaluates test data to set process or material specifications.
Plans and executes projects to improve lifecycle support and reduce costs.
Develops solutions to complex logistics challenges to optimize cost and performance.
Leads planning and review sessions on costs, schedules, and technical performance.
Supports proposal preparation, business plans, budgets, and contract negotiations.
May advise or lead less experienced staff.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires a bachelor's or master's degree in logistics or related technical field with experience as follows; ten or more years of progressive logistics management experience with a bachelor's or eight or more years with a master's. Equivalent applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
Must demonstrate an extensive understanding of logistics management concepts, techniques, and standards and have proven experience broadly applying those concepts.
Must possess the ability to contribute to the development of new processes or systems and communicate new concepts.
The ability to identify issues, analyze and interpret data and develop innovative solutions to a variety of unusually complex logistics issues, including Logistics Management Information (LMI), reliability and maintainability, and life-cycle support activities.
Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills to accurately document, report, and present findings to a variety of audiences including senior management and senior external parties.
Excellent interpersonal skills to influence and guide all levels of employees.
The ability to effectively and efficiently initiate, plan, and manage projects.
The ability to represent the company on external projects.
Excellent computer and documentation skills.
May lead a team of professional employees on assigned project(s).
The ability to work independently or in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.
