Actalent Engineering Technician in San Diego, California
Job Title: Engineering TechnicianJob Description
As an Engineering Technician, you will play a crucial role in manufacturing functional prototype sensors that support next-generation products. You will assist in engineering builds by fabricating units, collecting data, providing feedback, and troubleshooting. You will also be responsible for equipment setup, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting in both laboratory and manufacturing settings.
Responsibilities
Manufacture sensor probes using a combination of released, off-the-shelf, and in-development equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation, including experimental results and data entry.
Manage sensor and material inventory while ensuring a clean and organized work environment.
Utilize computer systems and software such as Excel for data input and tracking.
Perform equipment setup, teardown, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Essential Skills
Hands-on manufacturing or lab equipment experience.
Basic equipment troubleshooting skills.
Prototype/build support experience.
Ability to maintain accurate documentation and data entry.
Safety mindset, particularly regarding chemicals and equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Prior manufacturing or hands-on equipment experience.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
Experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments is preferred.
Familiarity with laboratory documentation practices is a plus.
Chemical handling experience is advantageous.
Work Environment

This role offers a hands-on experience with cutting-edge medical technology and collaboration with scientists, engineers, and technicians. The work involves standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods, frequent use of hands and arms, and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. You will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, bright light, noise, and a fast-paced work environment.

This is a Contract position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.00 - $29.00/hr.
