As a Director, Programs, you will
Lead the execution of all programmatic functions throughout the shipyard, including external communications with customers and senior leadership teams.
Drive innovation and solutions, facilitating alignment of corporate investments with customer needs.
Develop and direct the overall program strategy across Navy and Commercial Ship Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul, and Modernization Programs.
Oversee proposal and pre-production activities through leadership of the Program Management Office (PMO).
Ensure successful execution of programs during pre-production, production, and availability closeout phases.
Ensure program compliance throughout all availabilities, from initial solicitations to end of availability.
Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate program performance using the Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Lead the PMO department, responsible for BAE San Diego Ship Repair Life Cycle Management (LCM) reporting and program execution.
Maintain and develop the Lifecycle Management System using the Earned Value Management System.
Work closely with Operations to ensure projects meet or exceed corporate financial goals.
Develop and manage schedules and planning products, providing oversight of data-driven metrics to drive company performance.
Hold departments accountable for meeting schedule and cost goals throughout each project.
Develop people, including succession planning, education, and training to improve skills, engagement, and performance.
Instill a culture of Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) excellence throughout the organization.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Project Management, Business Development, Finance, or similar field and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience
Experience in Program Management/PMO
Experience in People Management/Leadership
Experience in Cross-functional team leadership to deliver commitments
Experience in Shipbuilding, Ship Repair, Maritime, or similar industry
Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items (Repair) and Commercial standards
Ability to develop concepts, plans, schedules, and budgets and effectively communicate them to the team to align cross-functional goals
Ability to organize and prioritize project schedules and requirements on short-term and long-term basis
Ability to monitor performance through KPIs and metrics, analyze data, and deliver status reports and presentations to leadership and customers
Ability to identify, analyze, and understand problems and collaborate to explore creative solutions
Ability to lead, mentor, coach, train, and support succession planning
Ability to manage stakeholders, influence, and negotiate
Strong planning, coordination, and organization skills
Good reasoning and decision-making skills
Strong collaboration skills to foster a team culture

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Master s Degree or MBA
PMP Certification
Experience in the Defense Ship Repair
Experience in Lifecycle Management (LCM)

Strong Business and Financial Acumen

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $153377 - $260743
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
