Location - Poway, CA
Shift - 1st and 2nd Shifts Available
Pay Rate - $25 - 30/HR depending on shift/experience level
Job Description
We are seeking Level II and Level III Composite Technicians to join our team. Candidates will undergo a comprehensive training program. Working in a dynamic and loud manufacturing environment, you will handle various epoxy agents, perform repetitive and standard procedures, and assist in the fabrication, curing, and assembly of composite materials using pre-determined methods and sequences.
Responsibilities
Work with blueprints, templates, sample parts, and process sheets.
Assist in the preparation of molds and forms.
Mark and cut tape, woven material, honeycomb, adhesive, and similar materials.
Route, drill, trim, and sand parts to blueprint dimensions and tolerances.
Vacuum bag parts for room temperature cure and assist in the lay-up of composite materials to molds.
Fit and smooth successive layers of materials to secure build-up free from wrinkles, air pockets, and voids.
Assemble aircraft components using structural adhesives, rivets, and threaded fasteners.
Prepare surfaces and paint composite and metal components, including bodywork and contour shaping.
Apply spray coatings using a high-volume low-pressure spray gun.
Assist in the development of shop aids for fabrication, trimming, and assembly.
Monitor expiration dates of materials and prepare proper mixes of resins and catalysts.
Maintain quality control records and ensure a clean and organized work area.
Adhere to all safety regulations and operating procedures.
Essential Skills
Familiarity with composites, manufacturing, layup, lamination, and blueprints.
Experience with vacuum bagging, aerospace processes, autoclaves, fabrication, prepreg, and carbon fiber.
Ability to verbally communicate, read, and comprehend detailed blueprints and instructions.
Proficiency in using hand tools like rollers, paper cutters, scissors, and electric heat guns.
Experience with measuring instruments such as scales, protractors, and calipers.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Strong work ethic and stability in previous roles.
Respirator certification may be required.
Ability to work extended hours and lift assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.50 - $31.00/hr.
