Location: High Tech High – San Diego, CA Contracted Through: Amergis Schedule: Start ASAP – End of School Year
Type: Full-time, School-based Contract - $45/hr!!
Position Overview
High Tech High is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join the school team for the remainder of the academic year. This role is contracted through Amergis and involves supporting students with diverse needs in an innovative, project-based learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L)
Support students with fine motor skills, sensory regulation, self-help skills, and classroom participation
Assist with implementing IEP-aligned goals , accommodations, and interventions
Document student progress and maintain accurate service logs
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
Participate in team meetings, consultations, and school-based planning as needed
Qualifications
Active California COTA license
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred (not required)
Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
Ability to start immediately and commit through the end of the school year
