Insight Global Pre Sales Engineer - Network in San Antonio, Texas
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Pre‑Sales Engineer to join the team of one of our value‑added reseller clients. In this role, you will act as a strategic technical advisor throughout the full sales lifecycle, partnering closely with account executives and customers to understand business objectives and architect high‑performing network solutions.
Leveraging deep hands‑on expertise with Juniper, Xtreme, and HP Aruba technologies, you will design and present wired and wireless architectures that meet customer requirements for performance, scalability, security, and resiliency. You will lead technical discovery sessions, deliver compelling product demonstrations, and guide clients through solution design, best practices, and implementation approaches.
Responsibilities include developing proposals, bills of materials (BOMs), and network diagrams, as well as responding to RFPs/RFIs and advising on network security, routing, switching, and overall infrastructure optimization. You will also support troubleshooting and performance analysis as needed to validate solution feasibility and ensure customer satisfaction.
This role requires exceptional communication skills, strong business acumen, and a consultative approach to fostering long‑term customer relationships. The ideal candidate comes from a senior network engineering background and is comfortable serving as both a technical expert and trusted advisor. This position includes 50–60% travel across Central Texas alongside the assigned account executive.
Candidates MUST be local to San Antonio or surrounding city.
Salary range: $120,000-$150,000

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
7+ years of experience in network engineering or pre‑sales technical roles
Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, etc.)
Extensive experience designing wired and wireless network architectures, including high‑level and low‑level design documentation
Experience with network security, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
Ability to design and execute wired and wireless implementations
Experience creating SOWs, RFIs, and RFP responses
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIP, Aruba Certified) are a plus
