Job Summary and Qualifications
The Division Administrative Director Clinical Informatics (DADCI) drives the strategic and operational agenda for clinical informatics, health information technology and electronic healthcare record (EHR) initiatives, ensuring integration with HCA COG, Division Clinical Operations, Quality, and HCA and Division Information Technology Group (ITG). The DADCI represents clinicians’ interests in partnership with other division and facility leaders to translate clinical needs into information system solutions. The DADCI leads implementation of clinical information systems with goals of improving clinicians’ efficiency and effectiveness, improving patient safety and optimizing clinical outcomes.The DADCI is responsible for the development, coordination, support, and completion of workflow mapping, project advancements, resources, and implementation focused on Clinical Informatics initiatives. This includes (but is not limited to) computerized provider order entry (CPOE) and documentation, Evidence-Based Clinical Documentation (EBCD), Meaningful Use and other technology that supports clinician workflow, Clinical Excellence scorecards, and publicly reported data such as Leapfrog. The DADCI will participate in the community of Clinical Informatics by working with division and facility leadership to ensure clinical applications are well supported.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for strategic and operational leadership in the development, deployment, re-engineering, and integration of clinical information systems to support physicians, providers, and other clinicians.
Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary leaders to establish short- and long-term goals and implementation plans for clinical information systems in partnership with the Division ITG leadership team.
Implement and support division-wide standardization, utilization, integration and optimization activities related to other clinical applications.
Facilitate and lead clinical informatics projects at the division level. Implementation and support of corporate and division-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to the EHR and other clinical informatics initiatives.
Development, execution, and support of education plan, tools, and resources focused on the EHR and other clinical informatics initiatives in collaboration with the Clinical Education Department.
Assesses impact on clinical workflow and facilitates workflow redesign to benefit from new technology.
Direct, prioritize, and supervise the work of the facility Directors of Clinical Informatics (DCI) and Analysts, including ongoing supervision and leadership of the entire Advanced Clinicals team. Direct supervisor of all Directors of Clinical Informatics including hiring and monitoring of ongoing job performance.
Partner with CNIO, Quality, Physician, Nursing, ITG leaders, and others on the Clinical Excellence agenda and other clinical outcomes programs as they relate to clinical informatics.
Manage division-level programs to ensure federal and state program requirements for EHR incentive and payment programs are met (i.e. Promoting Interoperability Program).
Work with the facilities to drive improvement on publicly-reported measures, clinical metric reporting, and HCA endorsed programs (i.e. Leapfrog).
What qualifications you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree Required/Master’s Degree Preferred
Minimum 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital setting.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Clinical/Healthcare Informatics, clinical application support, or equivalent.
Must have previous experience facilitating large projects which includes implementation of health information technology.
Proficiency in Meditech and Microsoft Office applications.
Customer service orientation and/or training
Registered Nurse highly desirable
Employee completes initial and ongoing training and competencies as defined by service line, facility and department/unit which are specific to the needs of the patient population served (if applicable).
