Job Description

The Associate Director of Admissions, under general direction of the Admissions Director, assists the Director in all aspects of departmental operations and maintains responsibility for major functional unit(s) within a department.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as part of the Admissions Leadership Team.

  • Assists Director in developing and implementing a comprehensive recruitment strategy.

  • Executes a comprehensive, integrated, and data-driven recruitment, admissions, and enrollment plan to recruit new, prospective students.

  • Contributes to the development of an annual comprehensive and strategic recruitment plan to ensure enrollment goals are met and/or exceeded.

  • Advises on annual enrollment targets, new recruitment markets, and overall recruitment strategies for assigned territories.

  • Supervises and manages a team of recruiters.

  • Oversees the coordination of programs, ensuring program goals are consistent with departmental and University missions.

  • Collaborates with academic departments, student services, marketing, and financial aid to ensure a seamless recruitment and enrollment experience.

  • Partners with campus stakeholders to support field events, campus visit experiences, and admitted‑student programming.

  • Serves on various University, division, and departmental committees and represents department at various State and National associations such as NACAC, TACAC, and SARN.

  • Provides coaching, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities for recruitment staff Fosters a collaborative and high‑performance team culture.

  • Assists Director in formulating and implementing policies and procedures.

  • Ensures compliance with unit, department, University, and government standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Develops reports and analysis for recruitment purposes.

  • Delivers compelling presentations tailored to different audiences, including students, families, counselors, and community partners.

    Must be open to working evening and weekend events; open to traveling out of town as needed.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.

  • Eight (8) years of related experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Masters degree.

  • Eight years of direct or related experience in recruitment, admissions, financial aid, or enrollment management.

  • Experience managing or supervising a team of professionals.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, customer relationship management tools, student information systems (Banner/Ellucian).

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.
