TEKsystems Alarm Technician in San Antonio, Texas
We are seeking a Cable Technician to support the installation, programming, and service of commercial electronic security systems. This role is ideal for someone with structured cabling experience who is looking to grow within the security and low‑voltage industry.
Responsibilities
Assist with the installation and servicing of commercial electronic security systems, including:
Access Control Systems
CCTV and IP Cameras
Intrusion Detection Systems
Video Analytics
IP network and integrated security systems
Work under the supervision of a Lead Security Technician on active job sites
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and site plans to determine cable routes
Perform cable runs through commercial environments, including proper dressing and labeling
Terminate cabling using RJ‑45 connectors, patch panels, data outlets, and in data closets
Support the installation and wiring of devices such as wireless access points and security hardware
Ensure work is completed to industry standards and company quality expectations
Required Experience & Skills
Hands-on experience with structured cabling and network data cable runs
Proficiency terminating Ethernet cabling using crimping tools
Experience working in commercial construction or retrofit environments
Familiarity with access control systems and security installations
Ability to follow technical instructions and work as part of a team
Preferred Skills
Experience with Software House access control systems
Prior exposure to CCTV, IP cameras, or security-related projects
Strong attention to detail and documentation

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.
