This position is responsible for directing a project team in the execution of all project controls processes and systems on a major project or a number of smaller projects. Under limited supervision, will perform the more complex aspects of project control activities, ensuring that all project control activities such as project administration, change management, project estimating, cost management, earned value management, and schedule management are executed in a timely fashion and in accordance with all company standards and contractual requirements. May be in a lead position on assigned projects.
What You Will Be Doing:
Responsible for the development of scope, schedule, budget, earned value and estimate to complete data for assigned tasks.
Lead in the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and development of schedules and budget data (including resource loading) for those WBS elements.
Analyze cost data to the extent that corrective action can be taken to minimize project losses and the estimate to complete projections are defendable. Assembles and compiles schedule and cost data and inputs into the project control database and provide output to the project team.
Analyze schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas as well as maintain a checks and balances process with the project management team in determining the financial health of a project.
Consistently estimate accurate completion time of own assignments and coordinate with project team.
Read and interpret design drawings and perform quantity survey techniques in developing construction status.
Take the lead in the development and maintenance of any periodic (daily, weekly, monthly) status reports to keep management and/or owner informed on the project progress. These reports may include labor productivity, schedule status, financial analysis, Cost Performance Reports (CPR), and earned value curves reports on either direct or indirect construction activities.
Maintain all subsidiary reports such as personnel staffing, and release schedules, equipment schedules, etc., to facilitate good cost projections (EAC).
