Stryker Senior Engineer, R&D in Salt Lake City, Utah
Stryker Neurovascular is hiring a Senior Engineer, R&D in Salt Lake City. This individual will work collaboratively with R&D Design, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project launch success of novel Neurovascular medical devices. This is an onsite position.
What you will do:
Evaluate feasibility of and introduce new state of the art processes and semi-automated or automated equipment for manufacture of medical devices
Independently research, design, develop, modify, and verify components, and assemblies used to manufacture medical devices
Work with R&D Design engineers to translate Design Specifications to in-process specifications and develop processes and machines to enable manufacturing of medical devices
Analyze and correct complex product design and process issues using independent judgment
Qualify equipment and processes for manufacturing of medical devices
Identify and support the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology
Support and execute segments of complex multifunctional teams to advance projects through the design /development/launch process
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
2+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical, Biomedical Engineering degree
Medical device industry experience
Neurovascular, Peripheral Vascular, or Cardiovascular catheter or device experience
Laser processing and metal chemical processing experience
Strong technical ability to develop and optimize designs for mechanical / electro-mechanical assemblies incorporating DFM principles
Adept at applying knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design
Strong problem solving skills using DMAIC methodology
Application of LEAN manufacturing methodologies
Ability to communicate moderate complexity plans and technical information to team members
Mechanical design of fixtures and equipment used in manufacturing.
Experience leading and implementing custom automation projects built externally by vendors
