Database AdministratorsPerform activities related to the day-to-day administration and maintenance of transactional databases, ensuring that the database is available, performing properly, and safe. Perform installations, upgrades and patching, backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, monitoring, and configuration. Implements data models, database designs, data access and table maintenance codes. Resolves database performance and capacity issues, and replication and other distributed data issues. Works with application team to design database objects that meets business requirements and production standards. This requires obtaining application knowledge while working with architects, data modelers, and application developers. Ensures the performance of the databases and application code from development to production. Installs and migrates object changes through multiple test environments and production. Works on complex projects. Develops and implements database recovery plans and procedures. Installs, upgrades and tests complex database software. Works in multiple projects simultaneously which spans multiple applications releases.
