rinciple DutiesThis is a journey level job. Incumbents perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance/construction duties requiring independent ability to organize and complete maintenance or construction projects, including technical consultation and limited design work, materials and cost estimates, plus compliance with applicable codes. A Journey Maintenance Specialist may:Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, makes adjustments, repairs and/or performs preventative maintenance on computers, vehicles, equipment, or machinery, etc. Provides technical consultation to originators of project job orders, including development of project plans and related estimates. Builds, fabricates, or repairs structures, equipment, and/or miscellaneous articles from verbal instructions, blueprints and/or working drawings. Welds, solders, brazes, grinds, and/or fabricates various materials. Paints, finishes and refinishes wood, metal and other materials. Performs general facility maintenance including painting, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, as well as general cleaning and sanitation. Performs related plumbing, mechanical, painting and pipe fitting, etc., duties. "
