The Utah National Guard is looking to fill a full-time positions for aSpanish Language Support Specialistlocated at the Utah Translation & Analysis Center (UTAC) at Camp Williams. There is one full-time position at Camp William center. Flexible working hours Monday through Friday between 5:30 am to 6:00 pm.This positions is open ONLY to current UTAC state employees.Job DescriptionAs a Spanish Language Support Specialist, you will be required to listen to various Spanish language sources to provide precise word processing transcriptions in the Spanish language itself. The transcriptions are translated into English while complying with all legal requirements and reflecting cultural and situational context, sounds, noises, and other influences. You will utilize computer equipment and associated software to receive work assignments and to process the work product. The work product must meet stringent requirements for legal, law enforcement, and security-sensitive applications. Employment is subject to background checks determining an individual's qualification to work with sensitive security information.Responsibilities:Designs proposed output formats and monitors output for information accuracy.Translates spoken and/or written materials from one language to another.Writes or drafts correspondence, reports, documents and/or other written materials.Records and/or transcribes minutes of meetings, hearings, dictation, dialogue, etc., and produces document in draft or final format.Reviews and/or inspects work for quality, accuracy, and completeness.Enters data into a computer system and retrieves, corrects, or deletes previously entered data.Supplemental Information:Full-time position working 40 hours per week. This position is not a career service position but may be converted later.Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
