Job Summary
The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Work-Study Student Assistant to support its Faculty Affairs team . This position provides hands-on experience in academic administration within a dynamic medical school department. The student will help coordinate and track faculty hiring processes, maintain confidential records, assist with onboarding documents, and support communication efforts between faculty, hospital credentialing, and university administration.
Ideal candidates will have strong organizational skills, professional communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with discretion and accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in academic medicine, human resources, public administration, or higher education.
Responsibilities
Track and organize faculty recruitment materials and hiring checklists
Assist with preparing offer letters and memos using templates
Support onboarding processes, including license and credentialing submissions
Communicate with faculty, staff, and university offices in a professional manner
Maintain databases and spreadsheets to track progress on faculty appointments
Help draft and format internal documents, reports, and emails
Assist with digital file management and scheduling tasks
Other administrative duties as assigned to support the Faculty Affairs Director
Assists in any social media or internet postings.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
Must be a current University of Utah student approved for Federal Work-Study
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with confidential information with discretion
Detail-oriented with strong time management and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Interest in learning about academic administration and health sciences
Preferences
Experience with Google Forms, DocuSign, or Microsoft Planner is a plus
Previous administrative or office support experience preferred
Familiarity with academic or clinical environments a plus
