JOB SUMMARY
Manages and oversees a variety of programs, including Economic Development research efforts, economic development efforts in local communities, and grants. Works closely with Economic Development leadership to manage innovative programs to improve economic development and business resources and opportunities throughout the County.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Communication, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a closely related field, plus four (4) years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Oversees research, strategy, partnerships, and contracts for programs and projects assigned.
Prepares Requests for Proposals and negotiates contracts for programs assigned.
Identifies and promotes new business opportunities and research efforts to expand existing businesses and industry.
May supervise staff, which includes hiring, orienting, training, assigning, and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisals, and discipline.
Develops strategies, including marketing, pro formas, and funding for the purpose of assembling parcels of land for the development of housing, including affordable housing and transit-oriented developments.
Researches and promotes available programs to businesses and the public.
Provides economic information to the private and public sectors.
Assists in developing, analyzing, and submitting the annual revenue and expenditure budget plan and mid-year adjustments for applicable programs and ensures that project goals are met.
Makes presentations to councils, commissions, business leaders, and the public on behalf of the department's Director.
Prepares publications, materials, business presentations, marketing collateral, and other educational materials.
Performs data and statistical analysis; creates statistical reports, graphs, images, and lists to simplify complex data.
