TEKsystems Customer Service Representative in Salt Lake City, Utah

Location: Murray, UT (Fully Onsite)

Job Type: 4‑Month Contract (with possibility of extension)

We’re hiring a Premium Billing Specialist to support high‑volume billing and payment inquiries in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused healthcare environment. This role is phone‑heavy and ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to help others.

We’re looking for talent with a excellent customer service phone presence and at least one year of customer service experience. Healthcare or call center experience is a plus, but not required — training will be provided.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide high‑quality customer service while independently completing premium billing tasks

  • Handle inbound calls from members and internal partners regarding billing questions and payments

  • Make assigned outbound calls, including notifications for delinquent accounts

  • Resolve billing issues on the first call whenever possible, or provide timely follow‑up when additional research is needed

  • Answer questions, take payments, and educate members on billing and payment processes

  • Assist members with enrolling in online billing and payment systems

  • Verify reinstatement eligibility and complete required documentation when applicable

  • Research, analyze, and problem‑solve billing issues accurately and efficiently

  • Navigate multiple computer systems with minimal supervision

  • Maintain confidentiality of personal and financial information in compliance with policies

  • Meet established expectations for response time, call handling time, and availability

  • Pass quality audits by following billing policies and procedures

  • Partner with other departments to correct and update member accounts

A Day in the Role

  • Spend the majority of the day on inbound calls assisting members with billing and payment questions

  • Typical call volume:

  • Open Enrollment: 50–60 calls per day

  • Non‑Peak Months: 25–30 calls per day

  • Weekly team huddles and monthly staff meetings (paused during open enrollment)

  • After training, most of the shift is dedicated to phone work, with limited scheduled follow‑up time

  • High performers are encouraged to grow, take on escalated calls, and increase responsibility over time

What We’re Looking For

Required

  • High school diploma or GED

  • At least 1 year of customer service experience

  • Strong phone presence and communication skills

  • Professional, reliable, and positive attitude

  • Ability to learn and follow billing policies and procedures

  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, phone‑heavy environment

Preferred

  • Healthcare or health insurance experience

  • Call center experience

  • Experience handling billing, payments, or account inquiries

This is a Contract position based out of Salt Lake City, UT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
