CBRE Continuous Improvement Manager in Salt Lake City, Utah

JOB SUMMARY

The Continuous Improvement Program Manager will assess, document, monitor, and enhance business performance, technical skills and knowledge of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) employees. In this role, you will analyze current practices and develop business process improvements as well as implement changes in workflows, training, equipment, and teams to ensure continuous company performance. Provides technical leadership and mentoring to Maintenance teams on a daily basis and guide the CBRE Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Network CI Team to provide immediate solutions to any equipment downtime or process improvement that may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze company processes and procedures. Investigate shortfalls, issues, and concerns in current business processes.

Document known best practices.

Develop process enhancement strategies.

Train and guide team members in new processes.

Stay up-to-date with developments in management and process optimization.

Experience developing strategies and improvements through data analysis

Provide weekly updates on network projects as well as program specific updates.

Develop, manage and execute large complex continuous improvement programs within the network.

Experience with Kaizen activities including: definition, cross functional organization, tracking, and goal planning.

This candidate should be a highly experienced subject matter expert in continuous improvement, data driven management leadership, quality engineering, workplace safety

Must be a self-starter, possessing the ability to manage multiple complex projects and tasks simultaneously

Ability to work within and understand technical systems in hardware, software, and networking

Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a major functional area or department. May be responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's (BA/BS) degree in a technical discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or related field) required. Unless candidate has two years of Amazon RME experience at the minimal level of a maintenance tech 3.

Minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing and coaching employee performance in a manufacturing environment, required. Must include experience in project management and Amazon leadership experience.

+5 years working directly with the maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing equipment in a manufacturing environment required.

Background in packaging automation, distribution processes, mechanical systems involving power transmission through gearboxes and belts, and an understanding of control systems is a plus.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups in a clear, concise and influential manner. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Ability to work and lead employees in a safe and efficient manner.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.

Experience with Learning Management Systems.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proven problem-solving abilities.

Leadership and mentoring skills.

Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and/or schematics.

Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used to perform maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment.

Understanding of predictive maintenance technologies such as (thermography, vibration analysis, and air borne ultra-sound).

Must demonstrate leadership and good judgment in making decisions.

Must have a working knowledge of repairs and preventive/predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.

Maintain positive customer and employee relations.

Travel Requirement

Ability to travel as required (up to 50%)

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.

  3. Apply appropriate material handling techniques at all times,

  4. Only operate warehouse equipment and machinery (e.g. pallet jacks, manlifts, etc.) if properly trained, qualified and authorized to do so

As a Leader:

  1. While adhering to all HSE requirements established for CBRE employees, supervisors and managers are required to:

a. Provide sufficient distraction free time for employees to complete all required HSE training & support the HSE training program implicitly

b. Investigate and resolve (if possible) all reported unsafe conditions / acts and communicate results back to the affected stakeholders

c. Support stop work authority when it is exercised in good faith

d. Communicate any / all potential workplace hazards and workplace procedures
