JOB DETAILS
Base pay starts at $35.00 per hour
Shift: Day Shift
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Driver will be expected to transport and deliver building materials to our dealers, distribution centers, residential customers and/or construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires a wide range of skills from practicing safe driving and delivery to top-notch customer service. This is an OTR during the week and some Sundays may be required based on business needs.
Perform material handling activities to include loading and unloading material on a trailer by hand,forkliftor overhead crane
Reconcile material requirements with shipping list to ensure delivery is correct and obtainappropriate customersignatures to verify receipt
Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of tractor and trailer and have deficiencies corrected ifvehicleis not safe tooperate
Operatean onboardrecording system and adhere to company policies, D.O.T. regulations, and all federal,stateand local traffic laws while driving
Deliver products during the daythrough the use ofa piggy-back trailer mounted forklift (training available) at customer job sites and locations
Provide courteous, prompt, and professional customer service at all times
May be exposed to varying temperatures and seasonal climate conditions due to exposure,external oftractor-trailer
Inspect and cleanthevehicle to make sure that all functions are working correctly, safely, and good appearance ismaintained
Assistin inventory management activities to include cycle counts
Perform cleaning and housekeeping activities
Perform work in a safe and efficient manner
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
Valid CDL A driver's license with a clean driving record
Must be DOT compliant
2 years of previous tractor-trailer driving experience including winter driving experience (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable)
Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations with general mental ability to handle receipts, read maps, read road signs, maintain logs, etc
Willing to tarp and strap flatbed loads
Operate trailer mounted forklift
Ability to handle 60lbs bundles
Multi-drop delivery experience a plus
Ability to work independently or with a team
Ability to plan and manage time efficiently
Ability to work safely throughout the day and prevent unsafe conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Must be able to drive interstate as businessnecessitates.
