Business Development Manager – Electrical Power Equipment
Remote Position
We've partnered with an established manufacturer of electrical power equipment that is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and expand customer relationships within the medium- and low-voltage power distribution market. This individual will be responsible for developing new business, managing strategic accounts, and supporting customers across industrial and commercial sectors.
The ideal candidate combines consultative sales skills with technical aptitude and is comfortable working closely with internal engineering, estimating, and operations teams to support complex, engineered solutions.
This position is remote but will require travel to office in Cedar City, UT and to visit customers, distributors, trade shows, and project sites as needed.
Core Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within electrical power distribution markets.
Develop and maintain relationships with OEMs, contractors, system integrators, and distribution partners.
Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline across multiple verticals, including industrial, commercial, energy, and infrastructure.
Deliver sales presentations, product briefings, and technical overviews tailored to customer needs.
Represent the organization professionally in all external interactions.
Account Management & Collaboration
Act as the primary commercial contact for assigned customer accounts.
Partner with internal technical and commercial teams to support proposal development and project execution.
Gather customer requirements and market feedback to inform product and process improvements.
Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities, and forecasts within CRM tools.
Foster long-term customer relationships through consistent communication and follow-through.
Technical Knowledge & Capabilities
Candidates should demonstrate the ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to electrical power equipment, including:
Medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems
Electrical enclosures, switchgear, and switchboards
Circuit protection, control systems, and power monitoring components
Applicable industry and safety standards governing electrical equipment
A strong willingness to learn and expand technical knowledge is essential.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of sales experience in electrical equipment, power distribution, industrial systems, or engineered products
Experience selling through or alongside distribution and OEM channels
Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
Proficiency with standard business software and CRM systems
Ability to work in a manufacturing or technical office environment
Ability to travel 25% of the time.
Professional presentation and customer-facing demeanor
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
Background in engineered-to-order or custom industrial products
Familiarity with electrical system design or power distribution architecture
Ongoing technical training, certifications, or professional development
