Job Summary
The Associate Director of Student Services for the College of Social Work provides strategic leadership for student services, including recruitment, admissions, orientation, academic and curricular support, internships, career preparation and degree completion. The role oversees BSW and MSW admissions, supports program growth, and manages internship infrastructure for the Health and Human Services ( HHS ) bachelor’s degree. Additional responsibilities include graduate program administration, scholarship and tuition benefit oversight, staff supervision, and budget management.
Responsibilities
Lead CSW Student Services
Serve as the Dean’s delegate for student service needs, process student petitions
Serve on the CSW Executive Committee and Dean’s Cabinet
Collaborate and meet regularly with the assigned Directors of Graduate and Undergraduate Programs, Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising, BSW and MSW Admissions Coordinators, Graduate Coordinators, and Academic Advisors
Support CSW graduation coordination
Administer Tuition Benefit Program and CSW Scholarship Program
Ensure CSW students have access to proactive student support services, including:
Provide oversight for MSW advising
Supervise MSW and PhD Graduate Coordinators as well as BSW and MSW Admissions Coordinators
Coordinate staffing and supplies for campus-wide events, including events related to recruitment, admissions, transfer success, and belonging
Coordinate new-student orientations for BSW and MSW programs and assist students with admissions, registrar, income accounting, financial aid, making referrals to campus partners, when necessary
Coordinate communication/marketing to promote CSW student services, including Navigate campaigns, marketing and communication requests, and special initiatives (i.e., Activate)
Serve as the CSW Student Data Analyst
In partnership with the CSW academic units and University Enrollment Management, anticipate student data needs related to recruitment, admissions, orientation, advising, persistence, curricular navigation, and graduation
Develop and assess effective mechanisms for student data collection and dissemination to CSW leadership, academic advising, and career coaching
Maintain effective data tracking and dissemination to support CSWE accreditation and reaffirmation processes
Provide training for the effective use and analysis of student data
Serve at the CSW liaison with UAIR
Recruitment, Admissions, and Program Management
Oversee outreach and recruitment for CSW degree and certificate programs
Develop and expand recruitment strategies for BHC , SUDTTC , and HHS programs in collaboration with Enrollment Management
Manage admissions operations for BSW and MSW programs, with multiple application cycles each year
Provide curriculum and scheduling support for CSW degree and certificate programs
Provide administrative and curriculum support for HHS program, with increased resources and strategic priority to ensure successful launch and growth
Internship Leadership & Program Expansion
Design and implement internship framework for HHS program, including policies, evaluation systems, placement processes, and quality assurance
Develop and coordinate internship pathways for HHS students in a variety of Health and Human Services related settings
Build and maintain partnerships with agencies, clinics, nonprofits, and community organizations
Implement systems for student progress monitoring and issue resolution
Ensure internship standards meet accreditation requirements for HHS specializations
Expand recruitment and administrative management for HHS , BHC , and SUDTTC programs
Build new agency relationships and experiential learning opportunities
Maintain consistent communication with agency partners for continuous improvement
Staff Supervision
Provide leadership and supervision for MSW and PhD Graduate Coordinators as well as BSW and MSW Admissions Coordinators
Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations
Offer professional development opportunities and mentorship for team members
Ensure effective workload distribution and operational efficiency
Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment
Oversee Student Services Planning and Budget
Forecast annual budget needs to implement CSW student services efforts
Participate in annual CSW budget planning and Academic Enterprise Planning
Monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with university financial policies
Prepare budget reports and forecasts for leadership review
Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure efficient resource allocation
Administer CSW student leadership programs: BSWSA , MSWSA , Phi Alpha Honor Society
Serve as the advisor to the CSW student groups
Coordinate with Student Leadership & Involvement Office to ensure CSW student organizations are properly categorized
Coordinate Phi Alpha student selection process
Prepare and disseminate an annual report of CSW student leadership programs
Represent CSW on college & campus committees
CSW College Council
MSW & BSW Advisory Committees
Academic Advising Standards Council
General Education Curriculum Committee
Additional committees as needed
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration, a related area, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Six years of progressively more responsible management experience; and demonstrated leadership, human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Preferences
Master’s degree in Business Administration or related area preferred.
