Hexagon Agility Quality Inspector I in SALISBURY, North Carolina

Help us drive energy transformation by performing system inspections while working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Inspects products and monitors the manufacturing process according to established standards.

We are looking for an ambitious and driven colleague that wants to work closely with our local operations team.
Duties and Responsibilities
Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to measure complex dimensions such as weld symbols, bend angles/locations, squareness, radius, threadsizesand port depths
Conduct inspections and evaluations toidentifynonconforming material and equipment
Support the nonconforming material system to implement containment and dispositions
Train Quality Inspectors on interpretation of complex mechanical drawings and proper measurement techniques
Conduct targeted studies of process capability, and gage repeatability/reproducibility
Check whether established control plans are adequate and effective in all phases of production
Assistmanufacturing operations to quicklyidentify,containand permanently resolve quality issues
Perform internal Quality Management System (ISO 9001) and process audits
Maintaingagedchecking and calibration systems
Assistin the improvement of product and service quality by conducting root cause analysis, planning corrective and preventive actions, and verifying the results (8D)
Represent the Quality Team as a point of contact for daily production support
Train quality inspectors on complex mechanical drawings and proper measurement and inspection techniques
Review supplier PPAP’s for conformance and approve/reject as necessary
Support the creation of customer PPAP’s (dimensional reports, bubbling prints and other aspects assigned by QE)
Have the flexibility to adjust work hours to meet manufacturing schedule requirements
Perform all other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, conditional formatting)
Knowledge of effective and proactive product quality planning to be able to support the development and launch of new products

Ability to work independently with minimal oversight isrequired
Anticipates needs and problems while crafting solutions

Credentials and Experience
High School diploma or GEDrequired
3+ years’ experience in a quality assurance or quality control role isrequired
Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial work setting isrequired
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and specifications isrequired
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience is desired
Experience with ISO 9001 requirements is preferred
Experience with precision measurement devices and equipment isrequired
Working knowledge andproficiencywith SPC, gage R&R, and basic quality tools (check sheets, flow charts, control charts, histograms, and scatter diagrams) is preferred
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee isfrequentlyexposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to work in high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
- The employee must lift and/or move up to 10 pounds on a limited basis and up to 50lbs occasionally. The employee must regularly usestairsand kneel to perform inspections. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depthperceptionand Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employeeis regularly required tostand. The employee isfrequentlyrequired to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel;reach withhands and arms and talk or hear. The employeeis occasionally required tosit.
