Job Title: Survey Crew Chief
Job Description
Join our team as a Survey Crew Chief, where you will conduct a variety of surveying tasks including boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, subdivisions, and construction stakeouts. The initial project focus will be on topographic and construction staking, primarily determining right-of-way. You will be involved in survey calculations and work on municipal, commercial, industrial, and utility projects.
Responsibilities
Conduct various types of surveying including boundary, topographic, and construction staking.
Perform survey calculations and verify the accuracy of survey data.
Prepare and assist with survey data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents.
Search legal records, survey records, and land titles for property information.
Write descriptions of surveys for deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
Monitor equipment and survey supplies.
Review scope, budget, and schedule of project tasks.
Monitor task budget and progress.
Conduct on-site inspections as necessary.
Prepare project status and other reports.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and support Project Managers.
Attend client, public, project, and staff meetings.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience in surveying.
Experience in construction staking and layout.
Knowledge of boundary and topographic surveys.
Proficiency with Trimble equipment (Total Station, GPS, Laser Scanners).
Familiarity with Trimble Access Software.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saline, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
