JOB SUMMARY
The Plumber installs, assembles, modifies, and repairs residential plumbing systems throughout the home, including bathroom, kitchen, and whole-house piping, as well as piping associated with central cooling and HVAC systems. The position ensures all plumbing systems function safely and efficiently in compliance with applicable plumbing and mechanical codes.
JOB DUTIES
- Install, assemble, and modify plumbing and piping systems throughout residential properties, including bathrooms, kitchens, and whole-house water supply and drainage systems
- Install piping for sinks, toilets, showers, bathtubs, dishwashers, water heaters, washing machines, and other household plumbing fixtures
- Measure, cut, thread, bend, and join pipes and fittings using hand and power tools
- Install and connect piping for central cooling and HVAC systems, including refrigerant lines and condensate drain piping
- Connect piping to plumbing fixtures, appliances, and mechanical equipment according to construction drawings and specifications
- Test plumbing and piping systems for leaks, pressure, and proper operation
- Install pipe supports, hangers, sleeves, and related hardware
- Cut and prepare wall, ceiling, floor, and roof penetrations required for piping installation
- Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and plumbing schematics
- Coordinate work with HVAC technicians, electricians, and other construction trades
- Ensure all work complies with applicable plumbing codes, mechanical codes, and safety standards
Maintain a clean and safe worksite and follow company and OSHA safety procedures
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 5 years of experience as a Plumber or Pipefitter in residential or mechanical construction
Training: None required
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of residential plumbing systems, including bathroom, kitchen, and whole-house piping
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plumbing schematics
- Proficiency with standard plumbing hand and power tools
- Ability to test plumbing systems for leaks and pressure
- Ability to perform physical construction work, including lifting materials and working in confined spaces
