Robert Half Payroll & Benefits Specialist in Saline, Michigan
Description We are looking for a highly motivated Payroll & Benefits Specialist to oversee payroll processing and benefits administration in our fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will ensure accurate payroll operations, support employees with benefits inquiries, and contribute to HR initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience. Responsibilities:
• Process payroll on a weekly and biweekly basis with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Review and validate timesheets to ensure proper reporting of hours worked.
• Manage garnishments and income withholding orders in compliance with legal requirements.
• Audit payroll data for deductions, tax withholdings, and wage reporting accuracy.
• Address system and time clock issues, providing support to remote facilities as needed.
• Facilitate onboarding, terminations, and employee changes within the payroll system.
• Assist employees with benefits enrollment and respond to questions regarding coverage.
• Coordinate disability claims and unemployment processes in collaboration with relevant parties.
• Conduct audits to maintain data integrity within HR systems and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide training to managers on payroll and benefits processes to ensure smooth operations. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of payroll and benefits administration experience in organizations with 100+ employees.
• Familiarity with payroll systems, with iSolved experience preferred.
• Certification in payroll or benefits administration is advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and macros.
• Strong analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
• Willingness to work on-site and adjust schedule to support off-shift operations as needed.
