City of Salamanca Class B Driver/Laborer in Salamanca, New York
This class includes a group of positions involving the regular operation of motorized equipment utilized in various municipal highway maintenance and public works activities. Duties include the frequent operation of motorized equipment with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) in excess of 26,000 pounds. Incumbents also perform a variety of manual tasks associated with highway and public works operations. Duties are performed under general supervision. Direct supervision may be exercised over personnel engaged in assigned projects. A Commercial Driver does related work as required TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Operates a snowplow clearing and sanding roads; shoveling, Operates truck, grader, crane, bulldozer, front end loader, tractor mounted backhoe, and other motorized equipment utilized in the construction and maintenance of roads and bridges and other public work activities; Performs a variety of manual tasks associated with the repair and maintenance of roads and bridges, other manual tasks such as mowing, weed trimming, basic construction.
